Stranded ice floes in wake of ice jam flood at Hay River, NWT (Canada), May 7, 2008
Giant ice floes littered the streets of Hay River after the 2008 ice jam flood waters receded. This photo was taken on Vale Island near the museum – several blocks away from the East Channel. You can see an aerial view of this site, taken during the flooding, in yesterday’s post.
