Now we wait for it all to melt…

Stranded ice floes melting in the wake of ice jam flood at Hay River, NWT (Canada), May 7, 2008

Giant ice floes littered the streets of Hay River after the 2008 ice jam flood waters receded.  This photo was taken on Vale Island – several blocks away from the East Channel.  See the photo in this earlier post for a view of this area from the air, taken during the flood.
