Clearwater Clogged

Confluence of the Clearwater and  Athabasca Rivers, AB (Canada) during breakup, April 23, 2007

This picture shows a small ice jam clogging the mouth of the Clearwater River where it meets up with the Athabasca River at Fort McMurray, Alberta.   You can also see remnant ice along the banks of the Athabasca River, left behind after a big ice run passed through.
