Ice Dam, Montmorency River Watershed

Here is the second post in our  little mini-series of stunning ice photos taken by Université Laval PhD student, Benoit Turcotte.

This photo is of an ice dam that formed at the outlet of a creek.  Notice that the ice has formed in successive layers.  This is know as an ‘icing” or as “aufeis” (ice on top of ice).
