Submerged Ice Cover, Montmorency River Watershed

Suspended ice cover resisting a runoff event – observed in the Montmorency River watershed, Quebec (Canada), December 13, 2010

This is the last photo in our little mini-series of stunning ice photos taken by Université Laval PhD student, Benoit Turcotte.    Of course, I saved my favourite for last.  This is a photo showing a suspended ice cover resisting a runoff event at freeze-up.

Hopefully Benoit will share some of his wonderful pictures with us again sometime in the future.  Merci Benoit!
