Okay folks – we’ve had a lot of entries from the UofA River Ice Group in this contest so far – so now it’s time to change things up a bit… entry #12 comes from our colleagues in Russia – and you have to admit – it’s going to be tough to top this one!
This was taken by N.A. Demidenko in the Mezen Estuary in April 2007. Many thanks to him for giving us permission to post this wonderful photo on the River Ice Photo Blog and to our friend and river ice colleague, Dr. Elena Dolgopolova, Senior Research Scientist of the Russian Academy of Sciences for sharing it with us.
Now the challenge is on to our Canadian and American colleagues – and to colleagues around the world – please join in the fun and email me to have your ‘big ice’ photos included in the contest, too.
