Anchor Ice Dam on a Kananaskis River tributary, AB (Canada), Nov. 27, 2012

Here, anchor ice on the bed of this Kananaskis River tributary has created a damming effect – backing the water up until is spills over in beautiful mini-waterfalls.  UofA River Ice Group MSc students Vincent and Stefan found this during their field trip in November 2012.
